ADD/ADHD is becoming one of the fastest growing diagnoses of school age children. Currently about 1.6 million kids are saddled with this according to the CDC. With the diagnosis comes the exposure to many mind altering drugs and the potential side-effects of those drugs.
Many parents of these kids have suspected a link between processed food and the onset and worsening of the symptoms. The British Medical Journal "The Lancet" recently published an article that supports the parents feelings and observations of their children. Common food dyes (sunset yellow, allura red) as well as sugar and the preservative sodium benzoate were linked to hyperactivity in some children.
